Clothing Issued by the King:
   Cotton chemise (shirt) in white, blue, or some combination of blue and white in stripes or checks
   Wool brayet (breech cloth) in red, dark blue, or black
   Souliers de boeuf  (oxhide shoes) - moccasins also acceptable 
   Wool mitasses (leggings ) in red, dark blue, or black
   Wool tuque (knit cap)
   Wool mitaines (mittens)
   Gilet (unlined waist-length wool veste with or without sleves)
   Capot (tailored, unlined coat with large cuffs and hood of garment weight wool)
   Sash - wrapped around one time in no more that two colors
   Casse-tête  (tomahawk)

Privately Owned Items:
   Fusil (gun) - smoothbore French fusil with a barrel length of at least 42 inches
   Three couteaux (knives) for the waist, leg, neck
   Calumet (smoking pipe)
   Tobacco bag
   Bottle
   Chapelet (rosary)

Additonal Items:
   Some acceptable device for carrying cartridges - acceptable to the event site
   Something in which to carry water

Notes:
It is well documented that many men left some of the "received" clothes at home and went with old clothes . So the equipment carried to war is the strict minimum and preferably that given by the king. The idea of taking objects paid for from your own pocket just not make sense . So the jewelry of any kind, trade silver, wampum, even a decorated horn should stay home.

Pipe tomahawks ? The king just gave you a new "casse-tête". Hats? You will receive a wool bonnet free. Why risk loosing something you paid for? Leave it home. If you do not come back your wife may sell it.

The tobacco bag could be a souvenir of your fur trading youth, not much more will be decorated. That's about it.
