Fitzhugh's Lodgings Page

A lodging is simply a place to spend the night. It should be clean and convenient. There is no need to pay a high price, but price should not be the primary consideration. Any time spent in a hotel or motel other than in bed is time that could have been spent doing something more important. With that in mind, these are motels and hotels which I have used in the past and would use again.

Charleston, SC

Days Inn Historic in Charleston, SC
Located on Meeting Street just below the Market. A good location, but with limited parking and it is hard to get a reservation.

Hampton Inn - Riverview
Located on the Ashley River beside the new bridges. A good location, easy access, lots of parking, and adjacent to California Dreaming restaurant.

Kiawah Island
There is an Inn and Condo Rentals. Since Kiawah is twenty miles from Charleston, this is more convenient to the tennis facilities. However, there is not much to do except play tennis or golf. There are only three restaurants.

Myrtle Beach, SC

Pan American
A nice location. Beside the Beach Colony.

Beach Colony Resort
A nice location, but a difficult parking garage. Beside the Pan American.
